Thank you for choosing to book with us, we hope you will enjoy your stay. The following terms and conditions apply to your booking. They form the terms of a legally binding contract between Gillygate Guest House and you.
Reserving a Room
Please note that at Gillygate Guest House, we prefer the personal touch, therefore, we prefer not to take actual reservations over the Internet. However, should you desire to check our availability and make a reservation, please call 01904 636505 or email us at email@example.com Also we reserve the right to hold certain rooms for minimum night stays depending on the flow of reservations for a given period of time.
Check Room Availability
If you are emailing Gillygate Guest House about reservations for specific dates, please be sure to include the following information:
- The number of people in your party, including any children;
- Your intended arrival and departure dates;
- Contact name and number
- Any special needs you might have.
If you have viewed our room descriptions and have narrowed your interest to a certain room, be sure to tell us which room most interests you, and provide a backup or two.

A deposit of 100% of the first night is required at the time of booking, to be paid by credit/debit card only.
Confirmation of Booking
Your booking will be completed when we acknowledge receipt of your booking request and deposit. Prior to that the booking will only be regarded as provisional.
We accept payment by credit or debit card. Payments in cash on departure accepted. No cheques will be accepted on departure. Payment for any outstanding balance for the cost of your stay and any extras incurred will be payable on departure.
If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, 100 percent of the first night will be charged. If leave before your due departure date, we reserve the right to charge you for the full balance due for the whole of your booking, less any costs not incurred by us as a result of your cancellation. In agreeing to our terms and conditions, you authorise us to charge this amount to the credit/debit card used to secure the booking.
Arrival and Departure
You will be able to check in between the hours of 2pm and 11pm. Arrivals after 11pm are by prior arrangement only. If prior arrangements have not been made, and you do not arrive by 11pm, we are entitled to treat it as a “no-show”. We request that you vacate your room 10.30 am on the day of departure. If you fail to do so, we reserve the right to charge for an additional night’s stay.
Damage and Breakage
Our goal is to have your stay with us be as pleasant as possible. However, we know accidents happen from time to time. If something needs immediate attention, please let us know so we can attend to it right away. It may be necessary for us to replace damaged items and discuss with you any consequential charges to your credit card.
We are a Non Smoking establishment. If we find that guests have been smoking in the room, or anywhere on the premises, then we reserve the right to ask you to leave immediately. You will remain liable for the whole of the cost of your stay and an extra £50 for the air fresh service.
Sorry, we do not accept pets.
We do not accept any liability for damage to your property or injury to you (or other members of your party) whilst on our premises unless caused by the negligence of us. Cars left in our car park are parked at your own risk.
Any data collected as a result of your booking will be stored in accordance with the provisions of current Data Protection legislation.
